NOPADEN is a network of non governmental pastoralist organisations formed and legal registered under NGO registration act 2002 Number 07NG00003561 of 13/11/2009 and that the NGO is non profit making and voluntary network organization operating in Kilimanjaro Region in pastoralists areas.
LOCATION
NOPADEN is located in Same district, at SANGONET Office opposite KDC Factory Same in Kilimanjaro region.
VISION
To have a community with capacity to own and manage their economic through livestock keeping, social services, democratic and legal principles which gives them recognition and respect without discrimination and maintaining their culture by 2025
MISSION
NOPADEN will be a forum of network which builds the capacity of member organization to understand their working boundaries, exchange experiences, increase accountability and create conducive environment for the pastoralist communities..
OVERALL GOAL
To bring change to pastoralists communities to improve their livelihoods and cope with development changes in socio-economic, education and sustainable environment management in collaboration with development partners interested in supporting development changes to the pastoralist communities.
APPROACH
The approach of the nework will be to facilitate knowledge delivery to members in order bring changes to the pastoralist community through mobilization, workshops, seminars and through changing the livestock keeping methods to be more enterpreneural and increase productivity..
ORGANISATION SET UP
NOPADEN has a General Assemby, Board of Directors who governs the organisation through policy formulation and monitoring, Technical staff including Coordinator, Field Officers who are operating in sector approach. The role of the Board is formulating policies and directs responsibilities to management team which operates as voluntary executives..
PACKAGE OF NOPADEN
1. Promote, build capacity and institution building of pastoralists
2. Enabling environment for pastoralists to be attractive and motivate them to get necessary services closer to them.
3. Change the traditional livestock keeping to be improved practices
4. Facilitation development of by laws that will govern their agreed approaches to the community at their own localties.
MODUS OF OPERATIONS
NOPADEN will use participatory bottom up approaches to increase recognition and ownership to pastoralists on their day to day operation.
